A Job for the Tooth Fairy

Madison lost her first tooth this week. She was very excited about it and had been wiggling it for several months. She still needed a little help at the end to get it out (A job for Mom).

Our Busy Weekend

Our weekend started off at the Jump 'n Jungle at a friends birthday party. We had a great time and wore ourselves out.

Then we worked on Grant's cake for the Blue and Gold Banquet (Cub Scouts). We had a great time making the Shark Attack cake. The cake almost won tallest cake (it was the 2nd tallest). It took 4 boxes of mix and ended up weighing around 10 pounds.

Boatlift and Robin

We were up at the lake the first weekend of February and test drove a boat that we ended up deciding to buy. The boat is owned by the Frontier camp which is on the lake. They brought the boat over on Friday, and had it ready to go in our lift when we got there. Thankfully, the lift is working properly. The boat is a 2001 Mastercraft.

Kristin took the picture of a fat Robin that was hanging out by the house. Hopefully, we will have an early Spring as the kids are ready to get back in the water again.

Pinewood Derby

We had our Pinewood derby car races today. Grant's car "Blastoise" (a pokeman character) did pretty well. We finished in the middle of the pack, not too bad for our first year. Many people did compliment him on the design of his car. I think he had a good time, I know I enjoyed the races.

Grant learned how to use many new tools: Coping saw, Dremel, and a Rasp. I learned a lot from the speed tips that are on the internet.

The Riverwalk

We had a great time in San Antonio on Sunday. Even though it was very cold, the kids liked looking at what the craft vendors had for sale, and also liked the twists and turns and bridges along the riverwalk. They saw penguins at the Weatherfest that Seaworld brought. Madison and Tyler got new cowboy hats! We also found time to eat a lot of good food.

The Cave with No Name

Just northeast of Boerne, TX there is a great cave to visit. We took a tour on a cold and
wet Saturday on our way to San Antonio. Below are some pictures of the cave. The cave
has some wet spots to navigate hence the water shoes and rolled up pants. Grant really
liked the cave and asked many great questions.
The picture which has the stalagmites, is showing the formation they call the "nativity scene" . Can you see the three wise men?
